Laser marking removes almost no material - it changes the surface to leave a permanent hallmark, purity stamp, logo or serial number, and happens near the end of production. Laser cutting removes material to separate or shape metal, and happens early, around design and moulding. Different jobs, different machines: Smart Mark and Smart-Cube for marking, Smart Cut for cutting.

Stage eight of ten, alongside laser welding, tick welding and hydra welding. By that point the piece is cast, set and hand-polished; marking is applied before final polishing so any surrounding surface disturbance is cleaned up at stage nine.

Semsons Tech has served the diamond and jewellery industry since 1978, and on our setting machines the control system is self-developed, so support does not depend on a third party abroad.
