Semsons Tech
Jewellery 3D Printing Machines & Castable Resins
Jewellery 3D printing replaced hand-carved masters for most manufacturers. A CAD file becomes a castable pattern overnight, which compresses the design-to-sample cycle from weeks to days and makes it economic to test a design before committing to a rubber mould.
Semsons Tech supplies three technologies. LCD printers give the largest build volume per rupee. DLP printers give finer XY resolution for detail-heavy work. MJM wax jetting gives the highest daily throughput and the tightest dimensional accuracy for production wax.

Common questions
Written to be useful before you buy, not after.
Which is better for jewellery — LCD, DLP or MJM?
It depends what you are optimising. LCD (FOTO 6K, FOCUS 6K) gives the biggest build volume — 197 × 122 × 200 mm — at 35 µm XY resolution, so it suits batch printing of many pieces. DLP (S3D series) reaches finer XY resolution, down to 49 µm on the S3D-125, and a 10 µm minimum layer, which suits filigree and detail work. MJM wax jetting delivers the highest daily capacity at 300 g and a 15 µm layer with ±0.04 mm per 20 mm accuracy, which suits production wax at volume.
What is the difference between direct-castable and non-castable resin?
Direct-castable resin (our DC range) is formulated to burn out cleanly in investment, so the printed pattern goes straight into the flask like a wax. Non-castable resin (our NC range) is for fit checks, client approvals and master models that will be moulded rather than burned out. Printing an approval model in castable resin wastes money; casting a non-castable pattern ruins the flask.
How much can I print in a day?
Catalogue-stated daily production capacity is 300 g for the MJM unit, 150 g for the FOCUS 6K, 110 g for the S3D-192, 100 g for the FOTO 6K, 60 g for the S3D-110 and 50 g for the S3D-125.
Where does 3D printing fit in the factory workflow?
Stage one — designing and moulding, alongside resin and the laser cutting machine. What comes off the printer either goes to vulcanising and moulding at stage two, or straight to investment if you are casting the printed pattern directly.
