Can a jewellery laser welder work near set stones?

That is the main reason to own one. The pulse is focused and short — 0.1 to 20 ms at an adjustable focal spot — so heat is delivered locally instead of spreading across the piece the way a torch does. Combined with 10× microscope and CCD viewing you can place a weld precisely where it is needed. Stone type and proximity still matter, so we set the machine up on your actual work during commissioning.

What is pulse ramping and why does it matter?

Pulse ramping shapes how power is delivered across the pulse rather than dumping it all at once. In practice it gives cleaner welds with less spatter and less cracking on sensitive alloys — one of the catalogue-listed features alongside sweet spot, speed mode and micro weld.

Do I need a separate chiller?

No. The catalogue specifies a chiller and wind cooling system built into the machine, which is what lets it hold output through a production shift rather than needing to rest.

Is laser welding the same as spot welding?

In our range the jewellery spot welding machine is a laser machine — the "spot" refers to the small, localised weld it produces. That is different from resistance tick welding or hydra welding, which the catalogue lists separately at stage eight of the factory workflow.
