Semsons Tech

Jewellery Laser Marking & Laser Cutting Machines

Laser marking and laser cutting sit at two different points in a jewellery workflow. Cutting shapes and separates metal early, during design and moulding; marking applies hallmarks, purity stamps, brand marks and traceability codes near the end, after the piece is finished. Semsons Tech supplies both, and our laser cutting machine has been recognised with a Best Laser Cutting Machine award.

The range covers four platforms. The Smart-Cube is described in our catalogue as the world's compact marking machine — built for benches where floor space is the binding constraint. Smart Cut handles precision jewellery and metal cutting. Smart Mark covers general marking and engraving across jewellery and metal parts. Smart-2 is a benchtop laser processing platform.

Common questions

Written to be useful before you buy, not after.

What is the difference between laser marking and laser cutting for jewellery?

Laser marking removes almost no material — it changes the surface to leave a permanent hallmark, purity stamp, logo or serial number, and happens near the end of production. Laser cutting removes material to separate or shape metal, and happens early, around design and moulding. Different jobs, different machines: Smart Mark and Smart-Cube for marking, Smart Cut for cutting.

Where does laser marking fit in a jewellery factory workflow?

Stage eight of ten, alongside laser welding, tick welding and hydra welding. By that point the piece is cast, set and hand-polished; marking is applied before final polishing so any surrounding surface disturbance is cleaned up in stage nine.

Can one machine both mark and cut?

The catalogue lists marking and cutting as separate machines with separate model names, and we do not claim one unit does both equally well. If you need both, tell us your volumes for each and we will advise whether two machines or one compromise platform makes more sense for your floor.
