Is the portable gold testing machine an XRF analyzer?
No. It is an electronic tester: the piece lies on a test pad, a pen probe touches the metal, and the screen shows the karat, 0 to 24K. It uses no X-rays, no acid and no gel, and it runs on a rechargeable battery with the charger supplied. For an XRF reading of the full alloy, the Signet analyzers are the benchtop option.
Is a portable tester as accurate as a benchtop Signet?
We will not put a number on that here, because no accuracy figure is published for the portable unit while both benchtop Signets have one. If accuracy is the deciding factor for you, that asymmetry is itself the answer: ask us for the portable datasheet in writing before you commit.
Does the Portable Gold Tester come with installation and training?
Yes. We commission the machine on your floor and train your operators on your own material and your own designs rather than a demonstration sample. Semsons Tech has served the diamond and jewellery industry since 1978, and on our setting machines the control system is self-developed, so support does not depend on a third party abroad.
What is the delivery time, and how are spare parts handled?
We do not publish delivery times, spare-parts pricing or AMC terms, because all three depend on configuration, destination and what is on the floor at the time. They are confirmed in writing on your quotation rather than estimated here. Ask for them explicitly when you enquire and you will get them in writing.
