Which should I choose - the Si-Pin or the FSDD?
If your work is primarily high-purity gold verification, the FSDD’s 145 +/- 15 eV resolution and 72-element coverage is the stronger instrument. If you need to detect trace elements down to ppm, or you want a lighter 25 kg unit with a smaller footprint, the Si-Pin is the better fit. Tell us your sample types and volumes and we will recommend one rather than sell you the larger machine by default.
What does "excluding light elements" mean in practice?
The Si-Pin covers elements 11 through 92 - sodium through uranium. Elements lighter than sodium are outside its range. For precious-metal work that is rarely a constraint; if you need light-element analysis, say so before you order, because no amount of configuration will add it later.
Is the analysis software included?
The catalogue specifies Semsons qualitative and quantitative analysis software with the Si-Pin, along with an HD camera for sample positioning. Licensing terms and any update policy are confirmed in writing on your quotation.
How much floor space does the Signet Si-Pin need?
The machine measures L400 x W350 x H300 mm. It weighs Approx. 25 kg. Allow clear working space on the operator side, plus access for any support equipment — compressor, air dryer or water chiller — when planning your layout.
Does the Signet Si-Pin come with installation and training?
Yes. We commission the machine on your floor and train your operators on your own material and your own designs rather than a demonstration sample. Semsons Tech has served the diamond and jewellery industry since 1978, and on our setting machines the control system is self-developed, so support does not depend on a third party abroad.
What is the delivery time, and how are spare parts handled?
We do not publish delivery times, spare-parts pricing or AMC terms, because all three depend on configuration, destination and what is on the floor at the time. They are confirmed in writing on your quotation rather than estimated here. Ask for them explicitly when you enquire and you will get them in writing.
