How accurate is the Signet FSDD?
+/-0.10% on gold content, analysing from 1% to 99.99% Au. For best results the catalogue specifies roughly a 40-second test, within a 10 to 60 second range - shorter tests trade precision for speed, which is usually the right trade at a retail counter and the wrong one before a melt.
Does XRF testing damage the piece?
No. XRF is non-destructive - the sample sits in the chamber and is analysed without cutting, scraping or dissolving it. That is why it suits finished jewellery, incoming scrap and customer walk-ins equally.
What environment does the FSDD need?
It is specified for 0-35 degrees C ambient temperature and humidity below 70%, on a 230V/50Hz input. Keep it out of direct heat and well away from polishing dust - fines drawn into a sample chamber are the most common avoidable cause of drifting results.
Can it test powder and liquid as well as solid gold?
Yes - the FSDD is catalogue-specified for solid, powder and liquid measurement objects.
How much floor space does the Signet FSDD need?
The machine measures 615 x 418 x 315 mm. It weighs Approx. 40 kg. Allow clear working space on the operator side, plus access for any support equipment — compressor, air dryer or water chiller — when planning your layout.
Does the Signet FSDD come with installation and training?
Yes. We commission the machine on your floor and train your operators on your own material and your own designs rather than a demonstration sample. Semsons Tech has served the diamond and jewellery industry since 1978, and on our setting machines the control system is self-developed, so support does not depend on a third party abroad.
What is the delivery time, and how are spare parts handled?
